Thanksgiving Family Fun Portrait Session {Victoria, BC Family Photographer}

This last weekend was Thanksgiving weekend. I am truly thankful for so very many things in my life, but toward the top of the list is my job. I love meeting new families, and getting to know them, even just a bit as I photograph the ages and stages that they are in!

Sunday morning I met up with the "B" family. Mr. & Mrs. B have what my Grandmother would call a Gentleman's family: two girls, and two boys. To top things off, the youngest two children were adorable 4 month old twins! The older two children were super helpful with the babies. The oldest daughter, "T", was just lovely, and needed barely any direction at all, she was a natural for the camera! The oldest boy, "D" was a hoot, and in full boy mode. He had some of the silliest faces I've ever seen, and was determined to only get those on camera, but he finally burst into laughter, and showed off his fabulous dimples!  The babies were more than adorable, and took the shoot very seriously. The time flew, and before I knew it, my time was up! It was lovely to meet this fun filled family, it added one more great memory to my Thanksgiving repertoire!

P & L Fall Mini-Portrait Session {Victoria, BC Family Photographer}

My final shoot of the day Saturday was with "P" and her son "L". Sometimes you get the opportunity to work with people who wear their heart on their sleeves, whether they mean to or not. This mother and son were just those type of people. Every family has a dynamic, and the dynamic in this family was love. As I sifted through the photos for P and L, I saw love in every photo of them together. I saw a mother who was crazy about her son, and a son who cherished his mother. I see this a lot with mothers of tiny kids, but not so much with older kids. It is truly beautiful, and I'm very thankful that I was able to spend time with this family.

Have I mentioned lately how much I enjoy seeing clients' children grow and change?! Well, little Mr. "C" is a perfect example! My first time shooting C he was 6 weeks old. He had the most beautiful big brown eyes, and was as sweet as can be. I shot him about 6 months later, and marveled at his ability to sit, and on Saturday, he was walking! Shockingly enough, after our session, C's parent's left to celebrate his 1st birthday party. I simply cannot believe how fast time flies! "C" was just as darling as he has been the past two times that we've met, only this time he had the sweetest curls which melted my heart! He still has gorgeous big brown eyes, and a fabulous disposition. It was absolutely great to see C and his parents again!

The T Boys Fall Mini-Portrait Session {Victoria, BC Family Photographer}

The "T" boys: two of my favourite boys to shoot! They were the most willing subjects that I shot on Saturday, and perhaps this whole year! Most kids like to goof off for the camera at least a bit, and make me work for my shots, but these boys were golden!  It's been a couple of years since I shot "M" & "G", and quite a lot has changed in that time. I noticed that "M" is photographing more like a teenager than a little boy, and where "G" had missing teeth at our last shoot, he now has a great big smile, filled with lots of adult teeth. It's really neat to see the changes in kids that I've photographed before, and to be included in capturing those changes for their families!

And baby makes 3 girls! Fall Mini-Portrait Session {Victoria, BC Family Photographer}

The "R" family was a pleasure to meet on Saturday. They had two beautiful older girls, and the sweetest little 8 month old girl. As soon as we met, the older girls were whispering and giggling, I knew they were going to be fun! I loved how sweet the older girls were with their baby sister, it was definitely heart warming! Baby "L" gave me some darling smiles, and ate up all of the attention from her sisters. We finally got shots of everyone just in time for both of the older girls to locate an ideal climbing tree. They weren't letting photos stop their adventures! I had a really fun time with this family, and look forward to working through the rest of their photos!

I met up with "A" and her darling little guy for the first time on Saturday. I found it quite interesting that he was so similar to the 4 year old boy I shot earlier in the day; there must be a "play hard to get" section in the 4 year old boy manual! We sure had a good time trying to get his beautiful smile to show up though! He played the "make faces" game, the "don't look at the camera" game, and the "pretend there's no camera" game. It turns out that his mama was a champion tickler, and finally got some great smiles out of him by giving his ticklish ribs a poke. :) In the end, I do believe it was a success!

The "B" Family Fall Mini-Portrait Session {Victoria, BC Family Photographer}

I met the "B" family for the very first time on Saturday. They were picture perfect, all matching and gorgeous! The first shot I took, everyone was poised, and looking their best, quite a feat for a 3 child family! The boys were cool as cucumbers until I had them throw some leaves around! That must have uncorked their energy, because after that they were busy, busy! Nothing is more fun for kids than crispy leaves,a nd the two boys had a rediculous amount of fun tossing them around, and onto their little sister. :) Little sister was so tolerant though, and had her own fun with the leaves. It was a really fun shoot, and one that reminded me of time with my own 3 busy kidlets! Thanks for letting me photograph your family T, you were lovely to work with!
