J&E Fall Mini-Portrait Session {Victoria, BC Family Photographer}

My first session of the day was with "J" and her darling daughter "E".  I really enjoyed taking photos of this pair, as they clearly not only loved each other, but really had fun together too!  Little Ms. E reminded my of a young Elizabeth Shue, and was completely spunky and fun to boot.  I always enjoy it when the kids that I photograph take charge and find the perfect spot to sit or they suggest fun things that they want to do.  "E" did this, and more.  She and her lovely mama started my day off wonderfully, and set the pace for a great day!

I had the privilege of shooting "J" & her cute little guy "E" once again on Saturday.  They came fully equipped with some fun props for "E" as well as some Fall themed pumpkin cake pops!  We threw leaves around, drove a dump truck, and had a snack.  It was a lot of work, but someone had to do it! Thanks so much for meeting up with me once again J, it was a delight as always!

K, H, & little J Fall Mini-Portrait Session

I met up with "K" & "H" and their little guy "J" about half way through my day of shooting.  Little Mr. J is just about the perfect age for baby portraits as he was steady to sit, but he wasn't crawling away from me yet! Their family was very sweet, and I just loved watching K & H as they interacted with J, and tried to get him to smile for me.  Having your portrait taken is very serious business, so "J" was sure to keep a close eye on me, and only cracked a few smiles before he relaxed, safely back in his mama's arms.  It was a fun shoot, and we even had a visit from one of the ducks!

I think that my very favourite thing about my day Saturday was the variety of families that I got to meet.  I simply love that I was able to shoot all shapes and sizes of families, and this one included a four-legged, furry family member!  "J" and "J" brought their teenaged boys "T" and "B" to meet up with me on Saturday, and brought along their happy little dog Moomoo as well!  It was a lovely session, and the weather was simply perfect for shooting.  We even met a couple who "dog-sat" for a few brief moments while we set up a shot without Moomoo.  The whole family was simply lovely, and I was so pleased to be able to photograph them.

T, M, F, & F Fall Mini-Portrait teaser {Victoria, BC Family Photographer}

I always enjoy photographing siblings, and Saturday was no exception.  "T" & "M" met me at the park on Saturday with their fun little guys big "F" and little "F".  The boys were a hoot, especially little "F" who thought that brother photos were the perfect time to lick his big bro.  I had to laugh as they reminded me so much of my own boys.  The session was made just that much more fun with the addition of some local ducks joining us for some of the family shots.  I'm certain that I had the most fun out of anyone just enjoying this lovely family and all of the laughs in between shots.

My last session on Saturday was with little Mr. "L" and his beautiful mama "J".  Mr. L is just about the right age to run as far and fast from the camera as possible, but instead he was the perfect model.  With a smile that could make anyone melt, he made our session together fly by.  Both L and J were so much fun to shoot, and the love between them was hard to miss!  Thank you for braving a no-nap day to meet me at the park, it was wonderful to meet you!

 

6 days old and full of smiles!

This week I met up with "E" and "I" and their gorgeous newborn baby "S". Baby "S' seemed to be born for photos.  She was perfectly alert when we began our time together, and I was able to catch some sweet wide-eyed photos before she fell asleep.  While sleeping she posed perfectly for some sleeping shots, even snoozing through her wardrobe change. All the while she would burst into smiles, (almost always when I wasn't shooting closeups)!  I was very happy in the end to have caught a couple of her darling smiles!  She also had the sweetest little baby feet, and as anyone who has seen my business card knows, I have a soft spot for newbie feet! The natural light was absolutely perfect for our indoor shoot, and I was able to avoid my arch nemesis: the flash.  E & I: you are wonderful parents already!  Congratulations on baby "S"!
